Abstract -


   Stem cells hold a promise to provide an important measure for regenerative medicine and gene therapy. Current technologies enable us to isolate and maintain embryonic stem cells (ESCs), neural stem cells (NSCs), and bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells in vitro. All the stem cells might share fundamental biological properties like self renewal and pluripotency. It is likely that they may share a core set of molecular regulatory pathways. We also speculate that a certain components of these pathways are preferentially worked in ESCs. We therefore tried to draw a map of genome-wide transcript of various stem cells using oligonucleotide microarray.
